  1. This area contains the latest official binary release of NetHack 3.1
  2. for the Macintosh, created from version 3.1.3 of the distributed
  3. NetHack source code.  Any updates made to the binary release by the
  4. Macintosh NetHack Port Team (MacNHPT) which are not documented in the
  5. distributed source code will be noted and described below.  The binary
  6. release consists of the following files:

  8. README.mac  - this file
  9. nh313.doc   - owner's manual
  10. nh313.hqx   - game archive
  11.  
  12. To install and play a game you will need a hard drive with, at least,
  13. 3.5MB of free space and any Macintosh running system 6.0.2 or better.
  14. Get the nh31* text files, mentioned above and follow the directions in
  15. the owner's manual.  The game archive is a self-extracting, BinHex
  16. encoded file.

  18. Concerns:
  19.     Rare (and unreproducible) report of freezing when attempting to
  20.         switch out of NetHack.
  21.     Strange messages when viewing intrinsics.  Please ignore!
